Job summary

Geisinger is seeking an Auto Mechanic to perform skilled diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of vehicles and gasoline-powered equipment that support our mission daily.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a minimum of 2 years relevant experience, and a PennDOT Class 7 license in Pennsylvania. Typical hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with flexibility for rotating shifts as needed to support staffing requirements.

Qualifications

• PennDOT Motor Vehicle Inspection Class 7 License required in PA.

Responsibilities

• Perform state inspections and routine maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair vehicles, including engines and transmissions.
• Repair gasoline equipment like mowers, snow plows, sweepers.
• Fuels, washes, and maintains vehicles.
• Maintain garage inventory and requisition parts.
• Keep vehicle records and complete job forms.
• Comply with DOT safety regulations.
• Operate Archibus/Web Central to generate and close work orders.

Job Summary

Provides skilled maintenance and repair services for Geisinger vehicles and other gasoline operated equipment.

Job Duties

• Performs state inspections and routine preventive maintenance.

• Troubleshoots and repairs vehicles, including rebuilding engines and repairing transmissions.

• Maintains and repairs gasoline operated equipment such as mowers, lawn trimming equipment, snow plows and sweepers.

• Fuels vehicles.

• Washes and cleans vehicles.

• Maintains garage inventory and submits requisitions for parts and materials as needed.

• Assures that registration and insurance cards are up to date.

• Fills out job completion forms and maintains vehicle records.

• Makes repairs on emergency generators as needed Performs daily checks of the unleaded fuel usage and record accordingly to state requirements as needed.

• Performs needed repairs and maintenance to all motor vehicle air conditioning systems.

• Maintains records to record all usage and purchases of all refrigerant gases while performing repairs.

• Operate a computer for access Archibus and Web Central to generate work orders and close out work orders.

• Must comply with applicable U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) safety regulations.
