Basement Systems of New York is seeking a hands-on Mechanic to perform prompt maintenance and repair of our auto fleet, machines, and equipment. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on gas and diesel engines and perform welding and fabrication as needed.

The role requires at least 3 years of experience, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and the discipline to document parts, maintenance logs, and inventory in the company system.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a mechanic.
• Strong welding and fabrication experience.
• Knowledge of gas and diesel engines.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Provide documentation for parts ordering, maintenance logs, and inventory in the company computer system.

Do you have a solid/general background with engine motors ranging from small to large gas- and diesel-powered machinery? We are looking for a hands‑on Mechanic to be responsible for the prompt, efficient repair and maintenance of our auto fleet, machines, and equipment. The successful candidate will have strong welding and fabrication experience, and be knowledgeable with both gas and diesel engines. Training will be provided on specialty equipment as needed.
