Job Summary
The Auto Lathe Machine Operator will be responsible for operating one or more single spindle horizontal screw machines to perform a series of machine operations, such as boring, threading, and facing metal wire, rod, or bar stock. The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up single spindle horizontal screw machines, ensuring all tools, materials, and equipment are in place for efficient production.
- Insert stock into the feed mechanism and set stock stop to control the length fed into the machine.
- Start machines, observe operation, and monitor the process to ensure smooth functioning.
- Verify the conformance of first run and sample workpieces to specifications using measuring instruments, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards.
- Collaborate with the EHS department to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA, and sustainability practices.
- Work with the Quality department to meet all quality standards for AS9100 certification.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Experience: 1 to 3 months of training or experience.
- Other: Successful passage of testing for ABC certification program.
- Physical: Ability to lift 25 lbs frequently and 50 lbs regularly; capable of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and working in noisy environments with hearing protection.
Training
- First shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm.
- Post-training shift: Second shift: Monday-Friday, 2:30pm - 11:00pm.

- English Language: Knowledge of structure, content, spelling, and grammar.
- Mechanical: Understanding of machine design, use, repair, and maintenance.
