Job summary

Uber is seeking an actuarial candidate to join its rapidly growing Commercial Auto insurance initiatives in the U.S. and globally.

The role emphasizes traditional actuarial methods applied to new, non-traditional challenges, with opportunities to work across claims, finance, and data science. Ideal candidates have multiple CAS exams and at least three years of P&C actuarial experience, strong Excel and SQL skills, and a BA/BS in a quantitative field.

Qualifications

• 4+ CAS Exams and a minimum of 3 years of Property & Casualty (P&C) actuarial experience.
• Excel skills, proficient with SQL (or similar querying language).
• BA/BS Math, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science or Similar

Responsibilities

• Deploy traditional actuarial skills and training to support Uber’s Commercial Auto insurance and other coverages through estimation of unpaid claims liability.
• Contribute to the Quarterly Reserving Process, including data creation and validation, analysis and selections, internal and external communication, and financial implementation.
• Build detailed claims analysis and data visualization tools to inform accurate IBNR selections and identify operational opportunities in Uber’s business and claims functions
• Work closely with insurance finance, data science, claims analytics, and actuarial peers in developing analytic processes and deliverables
• Communicate findings to actuarial management and internal stakeholders including claims, accounting, and insurance leaders
