Position Overview
Chips Auto Glass is actively recruiting for Automotive Glass Technicians. They must be skilled in both cold knife & fiber wire removal, along with outstanding customer service by completing jobs with only the highest quality standard in mind. This is a mobile Glass Technician position, working both in-shop and on-site at customer locations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

A Closer Look Behind The Glass

  • Professionally install vehicle glass using Cold Knife, Extractors, & Fiber Line following all AGRSS & DOW Fitting and adhesive processes.
  • Deliver all Chips Auto Glass services efficiently and safely, focusing on quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage work orders, customer communication, and administration through company systems.
  • Operate a company vehicle safely to and from customer locations.
  • Mentor, train, and assist other Technicians daily.
  • Communicate clearly with customers via in-person, text, or phone.
  • Perform dynamic recalibrations of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems using Autel Scan Tools.
  • Install power window regulators and replace side and rear windows.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the AGRSS fitment process and maintain mechanical aptitude.
  • Adjust to schedule changes and collaborate with team members and dispatch.
  • Cut and install flat glass as needed.
  • Provide status updates to customers for each job.
  • Adhere to daily check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Promote and sell Chips Auto Glass promotional items.
  • Report damages, accidents, injuries, or incomplete jobs promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Glass Service Manager.
The Tools Necessary For Success
  • AGRSS Certification (or willingness to become certified within 6 months).
  • 3+ years of experience preferred; 1+ year required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Consistently meet or exceed productivity standards (e.g., five installs per day).
  • Follow company policies and safety procedures.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs, work at heights, and remain on your feet for extended periods.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Adhere to PPE policies and handle tools and chemicals safely.
  • Flexible hours, including Saturdays, and outdoor work in various weather conditions.
  • Maintain professional appearance and vehicle cleanliness.
  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
  • Complete training and certifications on time.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation Plan

Pay: $29.00 + Effective Rate. Potential earnings include base hourly rate, overtime, and bonuses, sometimes exceeding $29/hour.

  • Authorized to work in the USA.
  • No smoking in company vehicles or on customer property.
