Job summary

Mills Automotive Group in Baxter, MN seeks an Auto Glass Technician to join our busy auto body shop. You will remove, replace and install windshields and other glass with quality workmanship.

You will inspect vehicles, prepare surfaces, apply primers and urethane, and ensure proper fit and seal for durable results. You’ll work with a team to keep repairs moving and maintain a clean, safe work area in a climate-controlled shop.

Qualifications

Previous automotive glass installation experience required.
Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Job description

Description

We are looking for a skilled and dependable Auto Glass Technician to join our auto body shop team. This position is responsible for removing, replacing, and installing windshields and other automotive glass while delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent service.

What You’ll Do

Remove and install windshields, back glass, door glass, and other automotive glass
Inspect vehicles and glass for damage and determine proper installation procedures
Prepare pinch welds and surfaces for safe, secure glass installation
Apply primers, adhesives, urethane, and other materials according to manufacturer specifications
Ensure proper fit, sealing, and finish on all glass installations
Remove and reinstall moldings, trim, mirrors, sensors, and related components as needed
Perform leak checks and inspect completed work for quality
Properly handle and protect Guest vehicles throughout the repair process
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Work closely with body shop technicians, estimators, and other team members to keep repairs moving efficiently
Follow all safety procedures and manufacturer installation guidelines

What We’re Looking For

Previous automotive glass installation experience preferred
Experience removing and replacing windshields is strongly preferred
Knowledge of automotive glass adhesives, primers, and installation procedures
Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and glass installation equipment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Ability to lift and maneuver automotive glass and perform the physical requirements of the position

This position is paid a Flat Rate for each hour produced. The starting Flat Rate range for this position is $20.00 – $23.00+ and will be evaluated based upon relevant skills, training, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position may also be eligible for additional incentives as you grow your skills.
