A Brief Overview

A Technician Trainee will undergo training to become a proficient auto glass technician. After completing our program, you'll earn the Safelite SafeTech certification and acquire skills for unsupervised glass repair, replacement, and recalibration. We value a can-do attitude, caring nature, and service mindset, aiming to bring unexpected happiness to our customers by completing jobs with high standards of quality and timeliness.

What You Will Do
  • Learn and apprentice the Safelite way through hands-on and classroom training, including observing and assisting with auto glass installation and repair.
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems, troubleshooting and conducting diagnostic tests.
  • Offer additional services and products.
  • Study and pass assessments to become a Safelite-certified Technician, demonstrating proficiency and a positive attitude.
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles, tools, and chemicals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, adhering to all policies and standards.
What You’ll Get
  • Work Monday through Saturday with a day off during the week.
  • Competitive pay starting at $21.00/hour, increasing to $23.69/hour after training and certification.
  • Additional earning opportunities, including $5 per set of wiper blades installed.
  • Potential for promotion within the first year, with pay increases up to $29.91/hour as a Master Tech.
  • A benefits package valued at over $10,000, including 401(k) with company match, medical plans, paid time off, and more.
  • Options to buy or sell additional PTO and up to $5,250 annually in tuition reimbursement.
  • Paid training with all necessary tools and resources provided.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must be 18 or older.
Skills and Abilities
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools, and ability to operate vehicles safely.
  • Strong customer service skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and adhere to safety and dress code policies.
