Position Summary

The General Service Technician must have a mechanical aptitude and be able to perform basic automotive services such as mounting and balancing tires, tire repairs, oil changes, and vehicle inspections while delivering an excellent customer experience. They are also responsible for maintaining clean and safe work areas in the tire and service department. The technician may need to advise and sell customers on automotive services and repairs that are recommended or required for their vehicle.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling, and electrical systems.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques through formal training to stay updated with automotive technology.
• Change engine oil and filters.
• Perform tire maintenance and repairs.
• Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
• Install headlights and other small bulbs.
• Repair flat tires.
• Install wiper blades.
• Stock and unload tires.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Report mechanical repair issues to management.
• Keep the shop organized and clean.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and company policies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Valid driver's license.
• Passion for a career as an automotive technician.
• Eager to learn and motivated to succeed.
• At least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Successful background check.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Employees must meet physical requirements such as standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting heavy objects (>100 pounds). The work may involve outdoor exposure and handling chemicals, dust, and noise. Vision and hearing abilities must meet job requirements.
