Packaging-Corporation-of-America is seeking a production helper to assist with machine setup, monitor box quality, and stack finished boxes for palletizing. You will follow operator directions, help maximize equipment utilization, and train new helpers on duties.
Responsibilities include completing production and safety reports, identifying maintenance needs, and supporting scheduling with cost and quality improvements.
Assist with machine set-up in accordance with proper setup techniques.
Monitor box quality, including loose liner, scoring, folding, print quality, and proper glue application, and communicate quality-related issues to the operator and helper(s).
Ensure finished boxes are properly stacked for unitizing and/or palletizing.
Ability to understand and follow instructions on factory cards and directions provided by the operator.
Assist the operator in maximizing equipment utilization and achieving production capacity goals.
Assist in training helper(s) on machine duties and responsibilities.
Complete required reports accurately and in a timely manner, including Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Lean Enterprise Data, and Quality Data.
Proactively identify equipment issues and submit maintenance work orders to supervision for necessary repairs.
Adhere to production schedule, recommend improvements to support cost, quality, and service goals, and report unusual scheduling issues to the Supervisor.
Work with crew members to maximize operational efficiency and perform various production duties, including operating, feeding, pulling, stacking, and packing, as required.
Comply with all company policies, procedures, and work rules, including safety requirements and maintaining good housekeeping standards.

Regular attendance and timeliness are required.
High school diploma/GED.
Lifting up to 45 pounds.
Must be willing to work any shift.
Ability and willingness to work overtime on short notice, both during the week and weekends.
Ability to work in manufacturing environment, with varying temperatures based on season, around machinery, and heavy forklift traffic.
Must be able to communicate, read and understand English.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Experience in folding/gluing machine work.
Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment.
Ability to work within a team, effectively communicating with members, and work independently.
Ability to follow instruction and execute written and verbal instructions.
