Job summary

Brevard County in Melbourne, FL, is seeking an Automotive Equipment Operator II to perform pothole patching, asphalt repair, and routine vehicle maintenance within the Roadway and Bridge unit of the Public Works Department.

The role requires 2+ years of experience with specialized trucks, a Florida Class B CDL (before employment) and strong safety awareness; work may occur evenings, weekends, or holidays and involves heavy physical work and exposure to debris.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience operating moderately complex automotive vehicles used for asphalt (pothole) patching.
• Two (2) years of experience as Brevard County Automotive Equipment Operator II, or substitution as stated.
• Experience repairing asphalt and knowledge of traffic control and safety preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate moderately complex automotive vehicles used for asphalt patching and perform routine automotive service and maintenance.
• Adhere to safety protocols and traffic control measures.
• Assist in pothole repair tasks and support county road maintenance.
