Job summary

Pilbara Minerals Limited is seeking a skilled Auto Electrician to join our mining fleet. The role involves maintaining, servicing and repairing low voltage electrical systems and air conditioning on heavy mining equipment, with an 8/6 7/7 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.

You will operate within strict safety standards, bring trade qualifications, and contribute to equipment reliability and uptime in a fast-moving, energy-transition environment.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified automotive electrical technician with HV safety awareness.
• Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology required.
• Certificate II in Air Conditioning and relevant licenses (Forklift, EWP, Working at Heights).
• Current LR Class Driver's Licence and mine-site exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform low voltage electrical and air conditioning repairs on heavy mining equipment.
• Carry out servicing and maintenance to maximise uptime and reliability.
• Work to a maintenance schedule and assess unplanned repairs.
• Communicate with the Mobile Maintenance Workshop Supervisor on day-to-day activities.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor,the Auto Electrician role ensures the PLS fleet of mobile equipment is maintained in a safe and mechanically sound condition, carries out servicing, repair and maintenance of mobile equipment low voltage electrical utilising relevant test equipment in a safe, efficient and timely manner.to deliver maximum uptime for the Mining Group and to ensure that PLS interests are always protected.

This is a permanent full-time role which operates on an 8/6 7/7 (days & nights) FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure that works being performed is done in a safe manner, and in line with company OH&S standards.
• Carry out Low Voltage Electrical and Air Cond repairs maintenance activities on heavy mining equipment.
• Working towards increasing equipment reliability and availability.
• Work effectively to a maintenance schedule, assess unplanned repairs and effect suitable repairs.
• Communicate with the Mobile Maintenance Workshop Supervisor on day-to-day activities.

About you

• Relevant nationally recognised trade qualification: Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology.
• Certificate II in Air Conditioning.
• High Risk Work Licences: Forklift, EWP, Working at Heights.
• Current and Valid Driver's Licence (Minimum LR Class).
• Minimum 2 years post trade mine site exposure and experience in completing low voltage electrical and air conditioner repairs across a variety of MEM equipment (CAT, Epiroc, Komatsu).
• Strong commitment to Safety Culture.
• Ability to work as a part of a team.
• Strong knowledge and experience of Workshop standards, processes and techniques.
• Proven strong collaborative and liaison skills, with a good understanding of operations and equipment usage.
