Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Benton Harbor, MI is hiring a Porter to support our collision and glass repair teams by cleaning customer vehicles before delivery and maintaining shop and office cleanliness. You will pre-wash vehicles, handle interior and exterior cleaning, and prepare cars for the next steps.

This role requires a HS diploma or GED (preferred), the ability to multitask, automotive experience is a plus, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Customer service-focused role supporting vehicle cleaning and shop upkeep.
• Must be able to multitask and pay attention to detail.
• Automotive experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office, including trash removal, floors, and surfaces.
• Maintain daily housekeeping of the production area, including waste disposal and tool placement.
• Keep parking lots and grounds tidy and safe, including snow/ice removal when needed.
• Pre-wash customer vehicles before repairs start.
• Clean both exterior and interior of vehicles after repairs.
• Transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs.

Job Description

The Porter complements quality repairs by cleaning customer vehicles prior to vehicle delivery. Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of shop and office facilities.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office, including daily emptying of garbage cans, cleaning the floors, and dusting the countertops and work area.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area, emptying of waste cans, sweeping the floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and placing tools and equipment in their proper location.
• Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion, including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
• Pre-washes customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning.
• Exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
• Transport of customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs

Education And/or Experience Required

• High School diploma / GED preferred
• Ability to multitask
• Automotive experience preferred
• Clear close vision required
• 18 years or age or older
• Valid Driver's license
• Strong attention to detail
