Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced automotive body repair technician to lead repair operations and ensure high-quality, on-time vehicle restoration. You will work with a team to assess damage, plan repairs, and supervise apprentices while maintaining safety standards.

The ideal candidate has frame machine experience, I-CAR welding certification, and strong data interpretation skills, along with a background in vehicle repair processes from manufacturers.

Qualifications

• Ability to use a frame machine.
• Knowledge of vehicle repair processes by manufacturer.
• I-CAR welding certification is required or preferred.
• Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data.
• Ability to supervise repair personnel.
• Must be able to pass a thorough background check.
• Body Repair Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examine damaged vehicles and plan the repair process.
• Communicate with team about vehicle repair status.
• Perform quality repairs and maintain on-time status.
• Decide whether to repair or replace components based on safety, cost and cycle time.
• Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic components to access body parts.
• Participate in required safety meetings.
• File, grind and sand repaired surfaces using tools.
• Direct the work of an apprentice when needed and address questions.
