Fields Collision Center Glenview is seeking an Auto Body Technician Apprentice to join our collision repair team. This entry-level role is designed for someone who wants to develop hands-on auto body skills while working with experienced technicians.

You will assist with disassembly, body repairs, prep, and reassembly, while learning repair techniques and safety procedures in a supportive, family-owned environment. Pay ranges with DOE are outlined in the posting.

Qualifications

• Previous automotive, mechanical, or collision repair experience is helpful but not required.
• Willingness to learn and develop automotive body repair skills.
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools is a plus.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced body technicians with collision and body repairs.
• Remove and reinstall vehicle components, trim, bumpers, lights, and other parts as directed.
• Assist with dent repair, panel replacement, sanding, grinding, and surface preparation.
• Prepare vehicles and parts for bodywork and refinishing.
• Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
• Learn and follow manufacturer repair procedures and shop safety requirements.
• Assist with moving and positioning vehicles within the shop.
• Inspect parts and components for damage or required replacement.
• Properly handle and store tools, equipment, and materials.
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
• Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with technicians and management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
