Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Washington state is seeking an Auto Body Technician to deliver an exceptional customer experience through meticulous assessment and high‑quality repairs, restoring vehicles to pre‑accident condition.

You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles, realign chassis, replace parts and glass, and strive to meet repair targets while upholding safety and service standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a technical school program or four‑year auto body repair apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
  • Plan repair work, prepare cost estimates, and use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers.
  • Improve dents and minor body damage; mix and apply filler resins when needed.
  • Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
  • Remove damaged sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts; replace or repair glass and windshields.
  • Replace or repair interior parts as needed.
  • Weld and attach parts; prepare and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified paint or agreed‑upon equivalent.
  • Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and ensure correct completion by inspecting vehicles.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Job Description

The Auto Body Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide an exceptional customer experience through meticulous assessment and quality repair of each vehicle to restore it to pre‑accident condition. The technician disassembles, repairs, and reassembles vehicles while upholding speed, quality, and customer excellence. The role supports repair facility KPIs and represents the Boyd Group brand.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a technical school program or four‑year auto body repair apprenticeship.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate effectively with other repairers.
  • Understand methods and procedures for vehicle body repair.
  • Use required tools skillfully.
Other Requirements
  • Work safely in a noisy area with strong odors.
  • Lift up to 30 pounds at times.
  • Visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
  • Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.

Compensation

$26 – $33 per hour. Compensation is commensurate with skill, education and experience. Bonus opportunities may be available tied to individual or business initiatives.
