Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking an Auto Body Technician to deliver exceptional customer service through precise assessment and high-quality repair, restoring vehicles to pre-accident condition. You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble cars, collaborating with teammates to meet KPIs while representing the Boyd Group brand.

The role requires completing a technical program or a 3-year apprenticeship in auto body repair, with safety awareness and ability to use standard repair tools.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a technical school program or a three‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
  • Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
  • Resolve dents, dimples, and minor body damage; apply filler resins when required.
  • Realign car chassis and frames to correct structural damage.
  • Replace damaged sections with new or aftermarket parts, including glass and windshields.
  • Repair interior parts as needed.
  • Weld and fit parts, then repaint vehicles as required.
  • Aim to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and verify with post-repair inspections.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Description

As an Auto Body Technician, you will provide an exceptional customer experience through meticulous assessment and quality repair of each vehicle, restoring it to pre-accident condition. You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles, working collaboratively with team members to meet repair facility KPIs and represent the Boyd Group as a dedicated brand ambassador.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
  • Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers using tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers.
  • Solve dents, dimples, and minor body damage; apply filler resins when required.
  • Realign car chassis and frames to correct structural damage.
  • Remove damaged sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts, including glass and windshields.
  • Replace or repair interior parts as needed.
  • Weld and fit parts, then prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified or equivalent paint.
  • Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and verify work with post-repair inspections.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education And/or Experience Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a technical school program or a three‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate effectively with other repairers in the shop.
  • Understand methods and procedures for vehicle body repair.
  • Proficiency in using required tools for the trade.
Other Requirements
  • Work safely in a noisy area with odors.
  • Lift up to 30 pounds at times.
  • Visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
  • Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.

Compensation

Pay: $24.00 - $29.00/hour, flat rate, depending on experience.
