Job Description

The Auto Body Technician is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience by accurately assessing and repairing vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition. This role involves disassembling, repairing, and reassembling vehicles, ensuring speed, quality, and customer satisfaction. The technician works collaboratively with team members to meet KPIs and represents the brand professionally.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Execute the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan consistently.
  • Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
  • Use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
  • Hammer out dents and apply filler resins for minor body damage.
  • Realign car chassis and frames for structural repairs.
  • Remove damaged parts and replace with new or aftermarket parts; repair or replace glass and interior parts as needed.
  • Weld and attach parts; prepare and repaint vehicles according to factory specifications or agreements.
  • Complete work orders within designated labor times, inspecting vehicles post-repair for quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship in auto body repair.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to read work orders and work independently.
  • Ability to collaborate with other repairers.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle body repair methods and procedures.
  • Proficiency in using repair tools.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work safely in noisy, odorous environments.
  • Lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
  • Perform bending, stretching, kneeling, and squatting as needed.

Compensation: $20 - $25 per flat rate, performance-based, with minimum wage guarantees if applicable. Compensation varies with skill and experience.
