Job summary

Vive Collision in New Jersey is seeking an Autobody Technician to repair damaged vehicles with high-quality structural, body, frame, and unibody methods. You will assist the estimator with accurate estimates and minimize supplements, while understanding when to repair vs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of auto-body collision experience.
• Replacing and repairing bolt-on and weld-on panels.
• Knowledge of structural or replacement repairs, airbag replacement, and some mechanical work.
• Meet or exceed tech efficiency, cycle time, and return rate.
• Work with production manager and estimators on repair status, including supplements.
• Follow safety guidelines and hazardous waste disposal requirements.
• Keep work area organized and carts stocked with parts/materials.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Autobody Technician is responsible for fixing a vehicle after its damage. You will perform quality structural, body, frame, and unibody repairs. Also, assisting the estimator with accurate estimates and minimizing the need for supplements. Understanding the repair vs. replacement process is vital in the position.

Job Requirements

• 5 plus years of auto-body collision experience
• Replacing and repairing bolt-on and weld-on panels
• knowledge of structural or replacement repairs, airbag replacement, and some mechanical work
• Meet or exceed the company’s requirements for tech efficiency, cycle time (to keep vehicles on schedule for on-time delivery), and return rate
• Work and communicate with the production manager and estimators on the vehicle repair status, including supplements
• Utilize all required safety equipment, follow proper repair procedures, and adhere to all requirements for hazardous waste disposal
• Keep personal work area organized and clean, returns tools, and maintains parts/materials carts in an organized manner

Skills & Qualifications

• ICAR and OEM training preferred
• HS Diploma or GED, Auto Body Vo-Tech certification strongly preferred
• History of working independently and in a team environment
• Highly organized, able to handle multiple concurrent assignments
• Must provide own tools (in working order)
• Complies with the manufacturer and dealer safety guidelines and standards
• Ability to effectively communicate with others
• Ability to read and understand basic instructions, written estimates, and work orders
• Multi-tasking; adapt quickly to the fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel, and pull
• Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping to complete or inspect repairs
• Carry and lift heavy objects (up to 80lbs)
• Manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate equipment
