Job summary

Gateway Auto in Omaha is seeking an experienced Auto Body Repair Technician to join our growing collision center. We prize a family-owned culture, focus on customers, quality and respect, and a team that values experience and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years of body shop experience.
• Own standard body repair tools.
• Know the core body and collision repair procedures.
• I-CAR/ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examine vehicle damages and supervise the repair process from disassembly to reassembly.
• Operate equipment to restore damaged metal frames and body sections to original specifications.
• Fill depressions with body filler and ensure a quality repair.
• File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power and hand tools.
• Return the vehicle back to factory specifications.

Primary Responsibilities

• Examine vehicle damages and see vehicles throughout the entire repair process, including disassembly and reassembly of the vehicle.
• Operate special equipment to restore damaged metal frames and body sections back to original specifications (plastic welding, spot welding, etc.).
• Fill depressions with body filler and ensure a quality repair.
• File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools.
• Return the vehicle back to factory specifications.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years of body shop experience.
• Must own standard body repair tools
• Must know the core body and collision repair procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• I-Car/ASE Certifications are preferred.
• Further training will be offered for areas of needed education (We are an I-CAR Gold Class Shop, so certification will be offered if missing).
