Job summary

ABRA Auto is seeking an Auto Body Technician in Brookings, SD to repair vehicles to pre-accident condition using APS guidelines and factory specs. You will decide between repair or replacement, dismantle components to access damaged areas, and perform structural and sheet-metal work with welding and finishing.

Strong organizational skills and teamwork are essential. Requirements include 2–5 years of collision repair experience, High School Diploma, I-CAR/ASE training, frame/measuring tool

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of auto body collision repair experience required.
• High School diploma/GED required, collision tech graduate preferred.
• I-CAR certification or ASE training required.
• I-CAR welding and ASE Structural (B4) certification strongly preferred.
• Experience using frame and measuring equipment.
• History of working independently and in a team environment.
• Highly organized, able to handle multiple concurrent assignments.
• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
• Must provide own tools (in working order).

Responsibilities

• Repair damaged vehicles using technical information sheets following APS in accordance with repair orders.
• Make repair or replace decisions concerning safety, costs, and cycle time.
• Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window equipment to access areas.
• Perform structural or replacement repairs, airbag replacement and some mechanical work.
• Perform different types of sheet metal welding and metal finishing.
• File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools.
• Communicate with Production Manager and Estimators on repair status.
• Meet Abra’s requirements for tech efficiency and on-time delivery.
• Follow safety procedures and hazardous waste disposal requirements.
• Keep work area organized and return tools to carts.
• Follow Abra's quality control processes and inspections.
• Attend daily release meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
