About the Auto Body Mechanic Position

As an Auto Body Technician with First Student, you will perform automotive body repairs, including straightening bent bodies, removing dents, and replacing damaged parts. Key responsibilities include:

  • Repairing damaged sheet metal and body parts using hand and power tools
  • Documenting all repairs and maintenance on work orders
  • Ensuring vehicle security and safety while in the shop
  • Providing written estimates of repairs upon request

Body Shop Technician Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Own tools required
  • Preferred: Auto Body & Collision Damage Repair certificates
  • At least 3 years of experience in an auto body repair facility
  • Preferred: ASE credentials
  • Subject to DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
