Job summary

DARCARS Collision of Fairfax is seeking an Auto Body Shop Estimator to inspect and appraise vehicles to determine repair costs for insurance claims or customer expenses. You will work with customers and insurance companies to ensure a seamless repair process and deliver excellent service.

Responsibilities include estimating repair costs, managing the claim process, explaining estimates to customers, and ensuring quality control with final invoicing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive estimator experience.
• Knowledge of major insurance program protocols and upload of estimates/images.
• High school degree or equivalent; valid Driver’s License; background check required.

Responsibilities

• Examine damage to customer vehicles and locate structural, body, mechanical or interior damages.
• Estimate repair costs including supplies, parts, and labor.
• Calculate customer payments including deductibles for repaired items.
• Manage claim process by obtaining estimates from insurance companies and reviewing with adjuster.
• Explain estimates and expected return of vehicle to customers.
• Ensure high-quality repairs and minimize comebacks; conduct spot checks for quality.
• Reconcile and prepare final invoices matching approved estimates.
