Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate with Special Education/Autistic Support certification.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement IEPs and specially designed instruction.
  • Provide structured, differentiated instruction based on student needs.
  • Implement evidence-based strategies for students with autism.
  • Support communication, social-emotional, behavioral, and independent living skills.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain documentation.

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Autistic Support Teacher to provide specialized instruction and individualized support to students with autism spectrum disorders. The ideal candidate will use evidence-based strategies, individualized programming, and collaborative approaches to help students achieve meaningful educational outcomes.

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement individualized IEPs and specially designed instruction
  • Provide structured, differentiated instruction based on student needs
  • Implement evidence-based strategies for students with autism
  • Support communication, social-emotional, behavioral, and independent living skills
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Collaborate with families, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, BCBAs, related service providers, and administrators
  • Implement positive behavioral supports and classroom management strategies
  • Provide accommodations and modifications identified in student IEPs
  • Maintain a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate with an appropriate Special Education/Autistic Support certification for the assigned position
  • Completion of an approved educator preparation program or applicable Pennsylvania certification pathway
  • Knowledge of autism-specific instructional and behavioral strategies
  • Knowledge of IDEA and Pennsylvania special education regulations
  • Strong communication, organization, classroom management, and collaboration skills
  • Successful completion of required background screening and district onboarding requirements
