Job summary

Gersh Autism Academy is seeking a Vocational Coordinator to develop and oversee vocational and transition programming for students aged 14–22 at Washington campuses. The role collaborates with families, school teams, and local employers to create individualized opportunities and hands-on work experiences.

The position focuses on employment readiness, independence, and successful transitions into adulthood, with regular travel to community partners and job sites.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder or related developmental disabilities.
• Experience supporting transition planning or vocational programming.
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to build relationships with employers, families, and community agencies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee vocational and transition programming for students aged 14–22.
• Create pre-vocational training activities to build workplace readiness.
• Conduct vocational assessments to identify student interests and goals.
• Develop transition and vocational goals as part of IEPs.
• Create materials and data systems for vocational programming.
• Maintain records of vocational progress and program documentation.
• Coordinate community-based job sites and partnerships.
• Provide on-site coaching, supervision, and advocacy for students.
