Job summary

Evolve Treatment Centers is seeking a Residential Counselor to supervise up to 6 autistic adolescents in a 45-60 day residential program, guiding daily activities and group sessions.

You will build positive, professional relationships within boundaries, monitor safety, and support life skills while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a treatment setting.

Weekend shifts are required, and the role offers growth opportunities and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• All schedules require working at least 1 weekend shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support and supervision to autistic clients struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues.
• Establish positive and nurturing relationships with the clients within professional boundaries.
• Maintain vigilance and awareness of the milieu while monitoring behavior, activities, and safety.
• Engage in activities with clients, such as hikes, equine therapy, surf therapy, and fitness groups.
• Create a constructive therapeutic community in accordance with Center policies.
• Conduct and facilitate psycho-education groups and recreational activities.
• Perform crisis management and interventions as necessary.
• Demonstrate model behaviors.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of shift activities.
• Oversee and participate in meal-times and assist clients with life skills.

Education

High school diploma or GED

College coursework or bachelor’s degree preferred
