Job summary

Shrub Oak International School in the United States is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support autistic students in a residential setting. You will assist with daily care, participate in program delivery, and help implement individualized goals while maintaining safety and a positive learning environment.

The role requires strong written and verbal communication, crisis management, and the ability to work across shifts in a supportive residential program.

Qualifications

• Strong written communication for documentation, progress notes, incident reports, and admin tasks.
• Strong verbal communication to engage students, staff and external contacts.
• Experience in crisis management and de-escalation is required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily care and program outcomes for students across shifts.
• Collaborate with staff to maintain routines and daily living activities.
• Support students’ development of life skills and independence.
• Complete administrative tasks, logs, incident reports, and progress tracking.
• Transport students in a company vehicle if required, and attend meetings.
