Job summary

Allentown City School District seeks a Paraprofessional (Autistic Support) for Mosser Elementary School. The role supports instructional and behavioral programs for students with disabilities under certificated staff supervision.

Qualifications include two years of postsecondary study or an associate degree with 20 hours of annual staff development, clearance requirements, and U.S. citizenship or valid work visa. Starting salary is $20.16 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must meet educational requirements for highly qualified paraprofessional as defined by federal laws, No Child Left Behind, and IDEA.
• Must meet Act 34, 114, and Act 151 clearances.
• Must complete 20 hours of approved staff development annually.
• U.S. citizen or holder of a valid work visa.
• Meet Chapter 14 PA Code 22 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the principal and other professionals in maintaining a safe and orderly school environment.
• Assist teachers in delivering instructional and tutoring strategies per the IEP.
• Provide instructional support under teacher direction to reinforce lessons.
• Collect observational and academic data for progress monitoring.
• Maintain students' files/records for documentation.
• Follow and implement positive behavior support plans.
• Handle students' personal needs to support care of students as required.
• Assist students' safe transitions within the school environment.
• Participate in specialized training related to individualized needs of eligible students with IEPs.
• Maintain FERPA confidentiality.
• Respond to emergency situations per policies and procedures.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by administration.
