Job summary

CAMPBELL COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT #1 - Rawhide Elementary, Gillette, WY, is hiring an Instructional Assistant - SPEA - ASD to support students with high needs and assist the teacher in delivering instruction aligned to IEP goals.

The position runs 7.5 hours per day over a 187-day school year, with starting date immediately. It requires meeting testing requirements and may be contingent on a physical if offered the job. Includes clerical duties and materials preparation to aid classroom functioning.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Testing requirements must be met (Wonderlic score, 48 college credits, or an Associate's Degree or higher).
• CPR/First Aid certification or equivalent training is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing procedures and training materials for students with functional academic needs.
• Attend meetings and convey information as requested.
• Conduct workshops and training to support students with high needs.
• Implement programs under teacher direction to improve academic and life skills.
• Instruct identified students individually or in small groups to support IEP goals.
• Perform clerical tasks and maintain instructional materials and records.
• Prepare written or audiovisual materials to convey information about students.
• Promote good habits to improve student outcomes and development.
• Respond to inquiries from administrators, teachers, and parents.
• Supervise individuals or small groups to ensure a safe learning environment.
