Job summary

Easterseals is seeking an Autism Specialist to deliver individualized, community-based and in-home support to individuals and families affected by autism spectrum disorder. You will identify needs, develop tailored support plans, and help clients build skills to participate in their communities and increase independence.

The role requires extensive travel across our counties, with some evenings and varied hours to meet client needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services or related field, specialized training in ASD.
• Minimum of one year of direct experience providing related services to individuals with autism, within the past five years.
• ASD-focused training or certification is preferred.

Position Summary

The Autism Specialist provides individualized, community-based and in-home support services to children, adults, and families impacted by autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This role works directly with individuals and families to identify service needs, develop and implement support plans, and help individuals build skills, increase independence, participate in their communities, and work toward their personal goals.

The Autism Specialist meets with individuals and families to discuss service needs and develop or review support plans. This position requires extensive travel throughout the counties we serve, and schedules may include evenings and other varying hours based on the needs of the individuals and families supported.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree in human services or a related field, specialized training in ASD, and a minimum of one year of direct experience providing related services to individuals with autism. Qualifying experience must have been obtained within the past five years.
