Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a dedicated special education teacher to manage a caseload and implement IEPs in accordance with district policies and the educational curriculum. You will plan and deliver differentiated instruction aligned with Common Core State Standards, collaborate with colleagues, and document student progress to support meaningful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Administer district curriculum aligned with Common Core and IEP needs.
• Design coherent, differentiated instruction and assessments aligned with CCSS.
• Provide instruction, modifications, and implement IEPs in an organized manner.
• Analyze student progress and ensure assessment guidelines are followed.
• Demonstrates mastery of content and pedagogy for students with disabilities.
• Sets instructional outcomes for diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment of respect and rapport to promote positive learning.
• Maintain a safe, accessible and resource-rich learning environment.
• Manage classroom procedures and student behavior.
• Coordinate effectively with service staff in providing instruction.
• Maintains accurate records and IEPs as mandated by guidelines.
• Collaborate with administrators, staff and parents in the IEP process.
