The Foundation Schools in Hyattsville, MD seek a dedicated Special Education Teacher for our autism program. You will deliver individualized instruction, align with IEP goals, and collaborate with a supportive team to foster social, emotional, and cognitive development.

This full-time, 12-month role requires MSDE licensure or eligibility, a bachelor’s degree or higher, and experience with students who have autism.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, special education or related field.
• MSDE license or eligibility for MSDE license in special education.
• Two+ years of experience in a special education setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of IDEA and its applications to special education.
• Bilingual abilities (Spanish/English) are a plus.

Responsabilités

• Employ special education strategies to provide quality instruction aligned to IEPs.
• Adapt instruction and curriculum to meet students’ diverse needs.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress and behavior.
• Develop and implement lesson plans using varied teaching methods and technology.
• Maintain classroom structure, manage behavior, and document progress.
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with team members.
