Job summary

Anova Education seeks a dedicated teacher for its autism program in Maryland. The role requires applying special education strategies to help students meet curriculum goals while supporting social, emotional, and cognitive growth in a self-contained setting.

The position is 12-month, full-time, with a salary range of $64,615-$93,810 per year. MSDE license or eligibility is preferred; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher is required, preferably in education or related field.
• MSDE license or eligibility for MSDE license in special education.
• Two or more years of experience in a special education setting preferred.
• Knowledge of IDEA and its application to students with special needs.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Employ special education strategies to advance academic progress and social development.
• Demonstrate knowledge of subjects and teach content using approved curriculum.
• Communicate with parents about student progress and behavior.
• Create and implement lesson plans using varied methods and technology.
• Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs and IEP requirements.
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain accurate documentation.
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with team members.
