Job summary

Kennedy Krieger Institute, Inc. is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the LEAP program in Baltimore, MD. The role requires implementing IEP-based instruction in a non-public day program for students with autism and behavioral challenges, aligned with MSDE standards.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for MSDE Special Education Certificate in Infant-Grade 3, Grades 1-8, or 6-Adult.
• If a Maryland Conditional Certificate is held, must complete requirements for Professional Special Education Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and orderly operations.
• Collaborate with parents/guardians and I.E.P. team members.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and guardians with clear feedback.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Special Education

Master's Degree in Special Education

60+ additional academic credits (PhD/EdD possible)
