Job summary

The Board of Education of Charles County seeks a dedicated special education teacher to serve students with autism spectrum disorder. You will plan and deliver targeted instruction, create a structured, safe environment, and collect data to guide interventions and measure progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and licensure as established by Maryland Department of Education.
• Experience with autism-focused education and evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver specially designed instruction in academic, functional, communication, and social skills.
• Create a structured, welcoming, and safe learning environment to promote generalization.
• Generate and implement instructional materials, data collection, and progress monitoring.
• Utilize data-driven decisions to revise instructional programming and interventions.
• Follow Special Education procedures outlined in IDEA and COMAR.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff and community.
