Job summary

New Story Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher to design and deliver individualized instruction for students ages 5–21 with autism and related challenges. You will create a structured classroom that supports learning and social-emotional growth, enabling meaningful progress and preparation for adult life.

You’ll develop IEPs, deliver varied instruction, manage behavior, and document progress while leading a multidisciplinary team to ensure consistent student plan implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and PA Special Education certification required.
• Minimum three months of experience with students with disabilities.
• Knowledge of child development, differentiated instruction, and behavior management.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs and lesson plans meeting each student’s needs.
• Deliver engaging instruction using varied teaching methods.
• Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe learning environment.
• Track progress and prepare required documentation and reports.
• Lead and support classroom staff to ensure consistent implementation of student plans.
