Job summary

Abound Health is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support a young child with Autism Spectrum Disorder and a seizure disorder in South Abington Township, PA. DSPs provide hands-on daily living support, safety supervision, and community engagement to improve communication, behavior, daily living skills, and participation.

The role involves active supervision, ABA-based strategies, and collaboration with family and the Abound Health team.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with ASD preferred.
• Comfortable with behavioral strategies and safety.
• Ability to pass criminal, driving, and healthcare checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompts and assistance with daily activities and routines.
• Assist with morning, after-school, and weekend routines.
• Support communication using a device, sign language, and non-verbal cues.
• Maintain close supervision and ensure safety at all times.
• Implement positive behavioral supports and redirection strategies.
• Assist with community outings, recreational activities, and social opportunities.
• Engage in sensory activities and outdoor play.
• Reinforce ABA goals and strategies.
• Monitor seizure-related concerns and safety protocols.
• Support skill development and independence-building activities.
• Communicate effectively with family and Abound Health team.
• Complete required documentation and ongoing training.
