Job summary

Qualifications

• Some experience working with special education children.
• Possess, or be willing to apply for, a TEA Educational Aide Certificate.
• Educational Aide certificate requirements include a high school diploma and additional credentials.

Responsibilities

• Help to maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
• Assist the teacher with preparing instructional materials and classroom organization.
• Assist the teacher with delivering lesson plans and supporting student participation.
• Assist teacher with administrative records and required reports.
• Establish positive rapport with students, parents and school personnel.
• Assist students with physical and personal care needs including feeding and hygiene.
• Implement positive behavior supports and interventions with students.
• Assist in managing behaviors per individual student plans.
• Attend staff development trainings to enhance instruction and support.
• Maintain confidentiality and perform other duties as assigned.
