Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a remote analyst to review medical necessity criteria for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment requests and provide autism education to families. This telephonic, queue-based role operates Monday–Friday, 7am–7pm CST, with the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.

Responsibilities include reviewing diagnostic evaluations, obtaining clinical information, and coordinating benefits while supporting treatment plans and care transitions.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted clinical license (LCSW/LPC/psychologist) or BCBA/LBA.
• 2+ years of experience in behavioral health.
• Experience working with children/adolescents on the autism spectrum.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Outlook).
• Dedicated, distraction-free home workspace with high-speed internet.

Responsibilities

• Review medical necessity criteria for ABA treatment requests.
• Obtain clinical information from providers on ABA requests.
• Determine medical necessity for additional ABA sessions.
• Manage outpatient cases through the treatment plan.
• Coordinate benefits and transitions between care areas.
• Provide education/resources to parents/caregivers related to ABA and benefits.
