Job summary

Lakeside Middle School in Albemarle County Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Assistant II to support students with autism as part of the Autism Base. Qualifications

• Ability to support students with special needs in instructional settings.
• Experience with IEP goals and behavior support strategies.
• Must be willing to seek and maintain CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a pleasant, orderly classroom environment and supports instructional materials.
• Assists students with learning tasks and 1:1 or small group instruction.
• Drives execution of IEPs and behavior plans under supervision.
• Records data and supports data collection for progress monitoring.
• Operates audio-visual equipment and supports schedule coordination.
• Communicates effectively with teachers and families to support student goals.
