Job summary

Coweta County Schools' Arnco Sargent Elementary School is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional for the Adapted Curriculum Autism program (183 days). The paraprofessional will support classroom teachers with instructional activities, prepare materials, and help manage groups to maintain a positive learning environment.

Candidates must qualify for a Paraprofessional Certificate by education or certification, or have 90 college hours; Mindset Safety training is preferred.

Qualifications

• The ability to organize, direct, and control small and large groups of children in a variety of activities and settings is required.
• The ability to adjust to changing conditions and situations is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the Adapted Curriculum Autism classroom teacher(s) in implementing instructional programs.
• Meet and instruct groups and individuals as designated by the teacher and prepare materials.
• Assist in data collection, behavior support interventions, and maintaining student records.
• Maintain confidentiality and assist with classroom management and safety procedures.
