Job description

The successful candidate will perform inspections as required by the American Society of Mechanical Engineering Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (ASME Code) Sections XI and III at two operating Nuclear Power Plants. The position is full-time, 8 hours per day, with some travel to support outages at the sites. Physical demands include walking long distances and climbing ladders. Candidates must pass a background screening to gain access to Nuclear Facilities.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 4 years of experience in boiler/reactor operations, or design, fabrication, or inspection of high-pressure boilers and pressure vessels
• Basic understanding of welding, weld inspection, and NDE methods
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and proficient in computer operations
• Holds a valid National Board AI Commission

Preferred:

• Associate or Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 5 years of experience in ASME Code construction and fabrication processes
• ASME Qualified Welder and/or NDE Technician
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows OS
• Holds a National Board AI Commission with "N" and "I" endorsements

Physical Requirements:

This role requires routine movement around the site, including:

• Crawling through confined spaces (11" x 15")
• Climbing vertical ladders and stairs
• Working at heights of at least 30 feet, up to 8-10 stories
• Bending, stretching, and twisting
• Withstanding temperature variations up to 70°F
• Walking 3-5 miles and standing for extended periods
• Lifting own body weight and equipment up to 50 lbs
• Visual acuity of 20/20 (corrected) and color recognition
• Hearing ability (corrected) to detect equipment sounds
