Job summary

Ultimate Care is seeking an Authorization Specialist to process and track home health authorizations onsite in Brooklyn, NY. The role requires coordinating with insurers, clinicians, and care teams to ensure timely approvals and accurate documentation.

Experience with HHA eXchange and Excel, strong organization, and excellent communication are essential. This is a full-time, onsite position reporting to the Director of Authorizations.

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum experience in an authorizations role in a home care agency.
• Proficiency with HHA eXchange.
• Proficiency with Excel.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Responsibilities

• Process and track authorizations for home health services, ensuring timely submission to insurance providers.
• Review patient records and treatment plans to ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
• Communicate with insurance companies to secure necessary authorizations.
• Resolve denied or delayed authorizations, including re-submissions or appeals.
• Maintain detailed records of all authorization activities.
• Collaborate with clinicians and case managers to align care plans with authorization requirements.
• Monitor insurance policy changes, billing codes, and regulatory requirements.
