Role Description

The Authorization Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Shrewsbury, NJ. This role is responsible for obtaining, verifying, and tracking insurance authorizations for surgical and non-surgical procedures, ensuring all approvals are secured prior to scheduled services. The Authorization Specialist reviews patient benefits, communicates with insurance carriers, and confirms coverage, deductibles, and co-payments. Day-to-day tasks include accurately documenting authorization details, updating patient records, coordinating with clinical and scheduling teams, and resolving authorization-related issues or denials. The role also involves educating patients on their financial responsibilities, maintaining compliance with payer guidelines, and supporting a smooth, efficient practice workflow.
