BSA Health System of Amarillo, LLC in Amarillo, TX seeks a day shift, full-time Authorization Specialist for the Amarillo Diagnostic Clinic to coordinate prior authorizations and keep patient care advancing smoothly.

You will communicate with providers, insurers, and patients, enter authorization data into the EHR, prepare cost estimates, and collect applicable payments, while ensuring accuracy and timeliness in a fast-paced clinic setting.

Formación

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience in a customer service role.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate and process prior authorizations as requested by providers.
• Obtain and process initial authorizations and re-authorizations as required by insurers.
• Notify patients of appointments and provide required instructions.
• Enter prior authorization documentation into the electronic health record.
• Explain patient financial responsibility to patients and guarantors.
• Create and provide cost estimates for scheduled services.
• Collect deposits, copayments, deductibles, and other patient payments.
• Perform additional authorization and clerical duties as needed within the clinic.

Responsibilities

• The prior authorization specialist is responsible for coordinating and processing prior authorizations as requested by providers.
• Obtains and processes initial prior authorizations and re-authorizations as required by insurance providers.
• Notifies patient of appointments and gives any instructions required for appointment.
• Enters insurance prior authorization documentation into the electronic health record.
• Communicatespatientfinancial responsibilityfor healthcare services to patients and guarantors.
• Create and provide cost estimates for scheduled services and procedures.
• Collect deposits, copayments, deductibles, and other patient payments.
• Performs additional prior authorization responsibilities and clerical work as neededwithin theclinic.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

• High School (or GED equivalent) diploma.
• Priorexperience in a customer service role.

Preferred Job Requirements

• Prior scheduling or prior authorization experience.
