Job summary

Sutter Health is seeking a qualified Eligibility & Benefits Coordinator to verify patient eligibility, coordinate benefits, and determine if prior authorization is needed for orders.

Responsibilities include obtaining authorizations when required, documenting in the EMR, and addressing patient inquiries within established turnaround times. Requires strong medical terminology knowledge and office skills.

Qualifications

• 1 year of recent relevant experience.
• HS Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients about health insurance.
• Verify patient eligibility and coordinate benefits.
• Determine if prior authorization is needed for orders and obtain authorization when required.
• Document approvals in the patient EMR and respond to patient inquiries within turnaround standards.
