Job summary

Proliance Surgeons seeks an Authorization & Benefits Specialist Lead to guide the team in day-to-day operations, prior authorizations, and insurance verification. You’ll partner with leadership to optimize workflows and ensure payer compliance across the department.

Schedule: 11a-7:30p, Tue-Sat. This role requires 3+ years in healthcare, strong knowledge of Medicare and commercial payers, and demonstrated leadership in a fast-paced setting, mentoring staff while maintaining patient-centered

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in healthcare with prior auth, insurance verification, or billing support.
• Strong knowledge of Medicare, commercial, and government payers.
• Experience mentoring or training team members preferred.
• Must be available to work 11a-7:30p Tue-Sat.

Responsibilities

• Perform full scope of prior authorization and insurance verification.
• Submit timely authorizations for procedures according to payer guidelines.
• Verify and document insurance coverage and network participation.
• Review EOBs, address denials, and document actions for reprocessing.
• Handle calls with patients, insurers, and clinical staff to resolve claims.
• Assist in maintaining accuracy of payment posting and credit balance review.
• Provide training and onboarding support for new staff.
• Collaborate with leadership to improve workflows and payer compliance.
