Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton seeks a Food Service Lead to manage day-to-day dining facility operations, including meal planning, inventories, and supplier orders to ensure safe, healthy meals for staff.

You will develop daily healthy menus featuring the five food groups, oversee U.S. and local contractors, train mess personnel, coordinate with base staff, and provide status updates while advising leadership on improvements. Occasional travel up to 90% may be required.

Qualifications

• Five plus years in food service industry experience.
• Two plus years in food service management.
• Experience with frontline or technical food service, cost control, budgets and scheduling production.
• Experience working with U.S. and Local National contractors in austere environments with quality control and safety standards.
• Knowledge of U.S. DoD Air Force food and health regulations (e.g., AFMAN 48-147_IP, AFMAN 34-240, TB MED 577).
• Ability to work independently and interact with all stakeholders.
• Ability to travel up to 90% to austere locations (South Asia) for deployments up to 6 months.
• HS diploma or GED is required.
• SERVSAFE certification or ACFEF Apprenticeship program completion.

Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day dining facility operations including meal planning and inventories.
• Order food from various vendors to ensure safe and healthy food preparation and delivery.
• Develop daily healthy menus featuring the five food groups for each meal.
• Oversee local/national contractors and provide training to mess personnel.
• Facilitate daily interactions with base staff and provide status updates.
• Develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
