Position Summary / Objective:

The Program Analyst will provide support to the NAVSEA AUKUS program as an action-officer supporting the Phase 2 Mission Systems Working Group.

The AUKUS, Submarines, and Industrial Base Group (ASIG), within the Sea, Land, Air Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to NAVSEA Team Submarine program offices and key stakeholders surrounding submarine platform construction. Team Submarine unifies submarine platform procurement activities, which includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navy’s top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program and the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine), to bring improved capabilities to our undersea forces. Analysts and Engineers supporting Team Submarine will continue decades of support to the SSBN force, as well as supporting oversight of cutting-edge attack submarine construction, assisting in developing the design requirements for the SSN platform of the future, and helping plan and execute new and innovative strategies to strengthen the critical submarine shipbuilding industrial base. These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition.

• Will work with government and industry partners across the trilateral (US, UK, and Australia) nations to support the sale of Virginia Class submarines from the U.S. to Australia.
• Will provide technical and programmatic support of directorate wide activities including action tracking, risk management, scheduling, event coordination, budget management, working group coordination and technical assistance.

Required education and experience:

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 5+ years of government or military related experience.
• Experience with submarine design, construction, operation and/or maintenance.
• Must be able to work on-site in Alexandria, VA up to full time with frequent local travel to the Washington Navy Yard - WNY based upon the needs of the client. Remote work up to 40% will occasionally be available

Preferred education and experience:

• Experience with Foreign Military Sales (FMS).

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

The typical workday is eight hours in length. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with concurrence from the supervisor. Attendance at prescheduled mandatory meetings is required. Must be available during the core work hours as determined by your contract/location and must account for the required number of hours in a pay period to maintain Full-time status.

Telework:

• Telework may occasionally be allowed up to 40% (2 days per week).

Travel:

• Ability to travel CONUS; potential to travel OCONUS
• Travel up to 15% may be required to partner and industry stakeholder locations.
