About the AUKUS, Submarines, and Industrial Base Group (ASIG)

Within the Sea, Land, Air Division, ASIG provides timely, objective assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy, and business analysis to NAVSEA Team Submarine program offices and stakeholders. The group oversees submarine platform procurement activities, including the Columbia-class SSBN program, the Virginia-class SSN program, and the upcoming SSN-X program. These efforts support the future capabilities of the US Navy in a strategic context.

Position Focus

This role involves providing specialized program management, advisory support, analysis, and subject matter expertise in emergency preparedness and response for the AUKUS Program Delivery Office (PDO). Responsibilities include researching, drafting, and integrating emergency policies and procedures to support the SRF-W capability stand-up by IOS, along with strategic planning and readiness assessments related to submarine operations and combat systems integration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support program management and provide advisory services focused on emergency preparedness and response planning.
2. Draft and refine policies, procedures, and programs for emergency readiness in support of SRF-W capabilities.
3. Conduct assessments to identify and develop techniques related to construction, coordination, and strategic planning.
4. Participate in enterprise assessments and contribute to Modeling & Simulation analyses to improve submarine operations and preparedness.
5. Provide risk assessments and evaluations of infrastructure, sustainment, and fleet readiness.
6. Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure effective integration and delivery of submarine capabilities.
7. Develop training programs for emergency response and submarine operations.
8. Engage in strategic planning and project analysis as directed by US AUKUS leadership.

This position requires working in a high-security environment, ensuring compliance with security protocols and confidentiality. Collaboration with stakeholders is essential to enhance submarine capacity, capability, and readiness in support of national defense.

Qualifications

Required:

• Experience as a Nuclear Trained Senior Enlisted, Junior Officer, or Shipyard Employee
• Experience in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP)
• Minimum of 8 years working with nuclear-powered submarines
• Active DoD Secret security clearance with access to Critical/Restricted Data

Preferred:

• Emergency Planning experience within NNPP, especially in submarine operations and emergency protocols
• Experience with Virginia-class submarines
