Job summary

Illinois School District U-46 is seeking a Theatre/Stage Technician to support auditorium and performance spaces with lighting, sound, and rigging for events, rentals, and productions. The role includes maintaining equipment, coordinating schedules, and ensuring safety across venues district-wide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as stage technician in a well-equipped venue.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Related safety training/certifications preferred.
• Possess a valid Driver's License and ability to travel throughout the District.

Responsibilities

• Work with administration on maintaining an accurate master calendar of events.
• Report individual work schedules to supervisor for review and approval.
• Assist the Facility Rental program with event scheduling for practices and productions.
• Consult and support feeder pattern performances related to technical items.
• Coordinate use of technical and facility items, prioritizing high school productions to minimize conflicts.
• Oversee auditorium space and equipment use by students, staff and rentals.
